Another Amazing Week at Horseshoe Valley

So we just got back from a week of skiing, tubing and swimming at Horseshoe Valley. We had a fantastic time and every one is exhausted....especially Daddy.

Nana joined us for a couple of days too. She planned on heading home on Wednesday but the weather was so bad she decided to stay and extra day. Of course the kids were very happy about that. Avery came down with something (who knows what) and slept for two days solid. I felt so bad for her since she was so excited about trying out her new skis grandma gave her for Christmas. Once she perked up a bit she got a couple good days in on the slopes.

Mike signed Cam up for a private snowboarding lesson because he was having difficulty leaning forward to turn. Here is an amazing pic of Cam and his instructor. The lesson totally paid off and Cam was carving up the hills the rest of the week with no problems.
A quick video of Cam.
Thanks again Aunt Brenda!!!!!!!!!!! for everything.

The kids were graded today in Karate. Both passed and were very excited, especially Cam.

Stay-at-home mom...no more.

Well this is the last day of my thirteen month parental leave from work. When I say it like that it seems like a long time but when I look back the year has gone by so fast.
I was looking forward to going back to work till I woke up this morning. Knowing its my last day home kind of made me feel a little down in the dumps. And then Cameron had a melt down on the way to school when I tried to talk to him about it which made me feel worse. Avery, being Avery, couldn't care less.
The good thing about the whole thing is that I am only back for two weeks and then we are off for a week of skiing. The kids are more excited about the ski trip then they were about Christmas.

Here are a couple of cute pics of Isaac.

Back to routine.

Well the holidays are officially over. I am always so excited for the holidays to get here but I am also happy to see them behind us for another year. They really are exhausting.

The kids went back to school yesterday (hurray for school!!!). When Cam got home yesterday he told me that the school day sucked....apparently he was expecting to have a 'back to school party' and instead he had to do actual work. Ohhh the disappointments.

We are back to the usual routines this week, swimming lessons, karate, and Cam starts guitar lessons (he is VERY excited). I also go back to work this week so I think life is going to get pretty hectic around here. It feels like I am constantly on the go now and I can't keep up with the laundry, I have no idea how I am going to juggle everything once I'm working. Enough whining.

We went for a walk this past weekend at Inverhuron. Lucky Isaac got a free ride the whole way. And here he is doing a drum solo on Rock Band.

Wow...Did 2008 ever fly by.

One year ago today I arrived home with Isaac. Mike, Cam and Avery were anxiously waiting at the airport for us. It was one of the greatest moments of my life seeing them so excited that I was home. Avery's eyes were 'melting'.

Hope everyone has a happy and healthy 2009!!!!

Merry Christmas!!!!!

Wow....what a day. I can't believe we are already winding down and getting ready for bed. Christmas day always seems to go so fast.

The kids had a great day and as always were totally spoiled.
Here is a great picture of Avery in a puppy dog hat that Nana gave her. Cameron finally got his ipod. He is one happy camper.
And Isaac scored a pretty sweet slide from Santa.
Everyone had a great day.....but of course Mommy is left to clean up the mess.

Happy Christmas Eve.

We just got back from spending two days with Grandma, Nanny and Grandpa Gordie. It was a good time and of course the kids got totally spoiled. Avery got a pair of skis and boots and Cam scored and new skateboard and ramp. Isaac didn't do too shabby either.
We also went out for a Christmas dinner with our cousins. Cam and Avery love spending time with them so it was great to see them. The kids and I have been tracking Santa since we got home. He has already visited a ton of countries....that man is truly amazing. He is expected to be in Ontario between 11pm and 1am so hopefully everyone is good and asleep by then.
Check him out yourself.

Yesterday being our 1st anniversary with Isaac the kids decided we should celebrate the occasion.
Here is a picture of Isaac with a mouth full of celebration cake!
Its hard to believe this time last year I only had just met Isaac. I look at him everyday and I am amazed how much he has grown and become a part of our family. I can't imagine life without him.

Early Christmas gift.

Yesterday Avery came home with a Christmas gift for us that she made it school. It was a cook book that her class put together. This was Avery recipe.
Some of the other recipes include:
How to make a bologna sandwich.
How to make beans (out of the can)
And many more wonderful recipes.
Just too cute.
